Our beautiful baby girl was born on Friday, May 13, 2005 at 5:55 a.m. Her name is Megan Storey Welch. She weighed 8 lbs., 3 oz. and was 21 inches long at birth. We couldn't be happier!

Tammy's parents Roy and Jean were with us at the hospital when Tammy was admitted, and Glenn's Mom (Gwen) and sister (Tiffany) flew down to be with us that day.

You can find pictures of Megan here:

Below is a chronicle of Megan--pre-birth and post-birth (the most recent news is at the top):

September 6, 2005 - Tammy's family left to go back to Nina's home in Jackson, MS.

September 5, 2005 - Gram Gwen's birthday! We had steaks and sang "Happy Birthday" and had cake. It was nice to all be together on her birthday.

September 4, 2005 - Since both families are staying with us, we decided to go to Walt Disney World for Megan's first trip. We took some great pictures (see link above), and had a fun time.

August 30, 2005 - Both Tammy and Glenn's family come down to our home in Ocoee, FL. The city starts to flood so neither family can go back to their homes for about a month.

August 29, 2005 - Hurricane Katrina hit Glenn and Tammy's hometown of New Orleans. Both of our families evacuate the city before the hurricane hit. Tammy's family went to Nina's in Jackson, MS and Glenn's family went to Panama City, FL.

August 25, 2005 - Today is Mommy and Daddy's 10th wedding anniversary! Mommy got a necklace from Daddy. We had a nice steak dinner. It was a nice, quiet night.

August 18, 2005 - Today is Tammy's Birthday! Mommy got a ring from Megan and a watch from Daddy and Rascal.

August 14, 2005 - Today is the first day Megan and Daddy spent the whole day together alone. It was a wonderful (and busy) day! Megan is such a good baby. Daddy is looking forward to more Daddy/Daughter days. But, we sure miss Mommy, and we are excited when she gets home.

August 13, 2005 - Megan's third month birthday! We didn't do much. Just relaxed around the house and enjoyed being together as a family.

August 10, 2005 - Tammy's Mom left to go home today.

August 8, 2005 - Megan started Day Care today. It was a sad day for all of us. Megan did fine. I know it was harder on Mommy and Daddy.

August 7, 2005 - Tammy went back to work today. :-(

August 2, 2005 - Megan had her 2 1/2 month checkup today. She weighs 13 lbs. 14 ozs. and she is 24 1/2 inches long. She is doing fine. The doctor says she is in the 90th percentile (whatever that is). That's good, apparently. We're thrilled that she is doing so well and progressing as she should.

Tammy's Mom came down to help us out for a week because Tammy is going back to work on Sunday.

July 18, 2005 - Megan has been holding her head up by herself more and more each day. We're trying to help her by sitting her up when we're holding her and letting her hold her head up and look around.

July 17, 2005 - Megan slept in her crib for the first time. She slept pretty well; she didn't cry because she was scared. We were more upset than she was than she was moving into her own room. We did set up the video monitor so we could watch her throughout the night.

July 16, 2005 - We left New Orleans to come back home to Orlando. As always, it was sad to leave our families. We miss them so much. But we know they'll be coming to visit later this year, so we have that to look forward to.

July 10, 2005 - Megan was Baptized at St. Angela Merici church in Metairie, LA. As noted below, this is the same church Glenn was Baptized, as was Glenn's brother and sister, who are Megan's Godparents. Glenn's Mom and Dad also got married in this church, and this is where Glenn, Tiffany and Scott all attended grammer school from K-7 or K-8 (Tiffany)

The Baptism took place after 12:30 mass, and lots of family and friends were present for the ceremony. Megan was so good, she hardly cried--except when they poured the water on her head, of course.

Afterward, everyone went to MaMa Jackie's house for a party. It was packed. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and we got to see people we haven't seen in a long time.

July 9, 2005 - We traveled to New Orleans to have Megan Baptized and for vacation. Hurricane Dennis was bearing down on the Mobile/Pensacola area with landfall set for Sunday. We didn't have any problems driving to New Orleans.

June 19, 2005 - Father's Day - Glenn received a few gifts from Megan, Rascal and Tammy: A laser level, a motorized tape measure and a BBQ apron with Goofy on it. Cool! Glenn also received a bunch of cards from family. Thanks to everyone!

June 16, 2005 - Glenn's family left to go home. We're going to miss them. We had a great time while they were here. We swam in the pool a lot, the girls went out shopping at Disney Village and to lunch one day, and Glenn and Tammy went to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom while Megan was being watched by Glenn's family. It was a blast!

June 11, 2005 - Glenn's Mom (Gwen), sister (Tiffany) and grandmother (MáMá Jackie) arrived to spend a few days with us visiting with Megan.

June 5 & 6, 2005 - Glenn, Tammy and Megan went to Baptism class at Resurrection Catholic Church (this is our home parish). Megan will be baptized at St. Angela Merici in Metairie, LA in the near future.

June 1, 2005 - Nina left to go home today (Scott and Ben left on 5/31). This is the first day we spent as our own family--just Glenn, Tammy, Megan and Rascal.

May 27, 2005 - Tammy's parents left today. It was wonderful having them here. They were such a help and provided support.

May 26, 2005 - Nina (Tammy's sister) arrived and was so excited to see Megan. Scott (Glenn's brother) and his friend Ben arrived as well, and Scott was thrilled to see Megan as well.

May 20, 2005 - Roy's cousin Joe and his family (Janice, Julie and Jaime) came by today because they are in town. It's so great that Megan is having all of these visitors!

May 18, 2005 - The Jaundice is gone!!! We are thrilled. Hopefully thing will get back to "normal"

May 16, 2005 - Megan has to go to the doctor to get the Jaundice checked. The Jaundice is still high, so she has to sleep in a light box until it is gone. It is frustrating, but we need to make sure she gets better. Rick came by and brought a gift (a rocker). He got to see Megan.

May 15, 2005 - Tammy and Megan were scheduled to come home in the morning, but the doctors diagnosed Megan with Jaundice. We had to wait at the hospital for a nurse to come with a light belt for Megan. Once she came we were discharged. Glenn's Mom and Tiffany were able to see Megan come home, but they had to leave quickly to catch their flight. Tammy's Mom and Dad are staying with us for a couple of weeks to help out, which is wonderful.

May 14, 2005 - Megan's second day. Glenn's cousin Jeffery and his family is in town and they came by to see Megan at the hospital. That is so special!

May 13, 2005 - Megan Storey Welch was born at 5:55 a.m.! She weighs 8 lbs., 3 ozs. and is 21 inches long. And she's beautiful! We are so blessed.

Everyone is so tired today because of the long night. But it was definitely worth it. Glenn went home for a bit to take a nap and get cleaned up. Glenn's family showed up and we all went back to the hospital to see Tammy and Megan.

Chris and Melissa also came by the hospital to welcome Megan into the world.

The pictures have captions, and tell a much better story of Megan's birth than we ever could with just words...

May 12, 2005 - Tammy went into active labor around 2 p.m. We arrived at the hospital at 5 p.m. and was admitted about an hour later. It's going to be today or tomorrow!!!

April 23, 2005 - Glenn's sister, Tiffany, flew down to visit with us over the weekend. We played in the pool, and Glenn and Tiffany went to Disney on 4/24. We all had a fun time!

April 19, 2005 - Tammy's co-workers threw her a baby shower at work. We received many wonderful gifts!

April 5, 2005 - Tammy met our potential new pediatrician this morning. She seems pretty good, so we have decided to go with her.

April 2 & 3, 2005 - We attended Lamaze class. We learned a lot about the birthing process and got some ideas of what we want to do and what we don't want to do. We're leaning more towards the epidural.

March 19, 2005 - Ran some errands and went to Babies R Us for the first time. Tammy loves the store. It's Xanadu for Moms :-)

March 7, 2005 - Started cleaning Megan's clothes and bedding that we received as gifts at the showers.

February 20, 2005 - Glenn finally felt Megan move today!

February 19, 2005 - Tammy, Glenn, Chris and Melissa (and Megan!) traveled to Daytona. Glenn had the opportunity to meet Jeff Gordon. Glenn was thrilled!

January 9, 2005 - Tammy is now feeling the baby move inside her. Wonderful!

January 7, 2005 - We moved into the new house today. We packed the apartment up all week since the closing and Glenn painted the bedrooms last week before the furniture was moved today.

December 23, 2004 - We closed on our new home today!!! We are finally homeowners! Megan will be able to grow up in a nice home in a nice neighborhood. Also, Tammy's Mom, Dad and Sister arrived today to spend the Christmas holidays with us.

December 21, 2004 - We had our second ultrasound and found out the sex of the baby. It's a GIRL! We could see her moving around and see the heart beating. We also heard the heartbeat during the doctor's visit. The heartbeat is 150 bpm and the weight is 9 oz. Click on the images below to see the pictures from the ultrasound. In the image titled "It's a Girl" you can tell it's a girl because there is nothing between the legs (the legs are in a "V" shape). We are thrilled that everything is going well. We are planning to name her Megan Storey Welch.

November 23, 2004 - Tammy heard the baby's heartbeat during the doctor's appointment. The heartbeat was 155 bpm. It was so wonderful and amazing.

October 29, 2004 - We flew to New York for our vacation and we told Glenn's family that we are expecting!

We are pregnant! We found out on September 13 and Tammy went to the doctor on September 24 to confirm. Yes, we are definitely pregnant!!!
